RE: B-018: Authorization of Use of Military Force Act, 1675 - Alfonso Velez - 09-04-2019

Madam Speaker,

We all know about the terrible attacks in Corrada del Rio and the need for us to protect the citizens of our great Republic. While this Government has already issued orders to ensure that our citizens are protected, it is the belief of this Government that this Parliament ought to authorize the continued deployment of forces. Parliament ought to have a vital role of checking the Government against protracted military engagements to ensure that we do not put the lives of our brave men and women in the armed forces at risk without good cause.

I respectfully submit to this Parliament that this deployment is vital to the security interests of our great Republic, and ask for this Parliament to authorized the continued presence of the Armed Forces to ensure peace and the welfare of our citizens.

RE: B-018: Authorization of Use of Military Force Act, 1675 - Alduria - 09-06-2019

Natalia Cotilla:

Madame Speaker,

I move to strike Article 3, Section 2 and replace it with "All military actions shall conform with the established internal rules or directives established by the Department of Defense that define the circumstances, conditions, degree, and manner in which the use of force, or actions which might be construed as provocative, may be applied."

Micras does not have a body of international laws, we cannot reference something that does not exist.

If the purpose is to ensure that we honor human rights and prosecute this war justly, we should enact those directives internally and establish a precedent that way.

I yield.
