B-010: Free Education for Our Heroes (Title Amendment) Bill, 1674
#11
Rejo shoots up out of the Speaker's chair and belts out in a loud and annoyed tone

ORDER!!!! ORDER!!! THE LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION WILL RESUME HIS SEAT! THE LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION WILL RESUME HIS SEAT!

After shooting a piercing glare at the Leader of the Opposition, the Speaker continues.

The Leader of the Opposition is out of order. The time for debate has expired and we are voting on the pending measure.

The Leader of the Opposition is further out of order by engaging in unparliamentary remarks directed to the Prime Minister. The Chair calls on the Leader of the Opposition to withdraw his remarks or be subject to the penalties of Section IX rule 3 of the Rules of Order.

The Chair now calls upon the Leader of the Opposition.

Madame Speaker,

I thank you for this opportunity to speak. I do of course withdraw and recant the unflattering comparisons between the Right Honourable Prime Minister and the foul abominations of the pit as being unworthy and unparliamentary. Let them be struck from the record. Furthermore, if any of my more zealous acolytes in the cadres outside of these hallowed chambers have, somehow, taken the idea into their heads to go out and repeat my words concerning the Prime Minister on the steps of every public building across this fair graceful capital of ours I can only advise them - with all due solemnity and sincerity - not to do so.

Speaker Rejo's eyes narrow again as if she is not fully pleased with the remarks. Rejo leans over and confers with the Parliamentarian.

The Chair thanks the Leader of the Opposition for withdrawing his remarks. The Chair joins him in his request that others not engage in such rude behavior--in or outside the chamber.

The Division Continues; Voting remains open.

From sedentary positions, members of the L&D caucus yell at the EDP phrases like "Disgrace!" "Sit Down!" "Fanatics!" "Racists!" etc.

Speaker Rejo rises again from her seat, her annoyance clearly not abating.

ORDER, ORRRRDERRRRR!!!!

I say to ALL members of this House that this house WILL be in order. If there continue to be disruptions, the Chair will direct the Sergeant at Arms to remove disruptive members from this House until we have order!

The pending business before this house is a vote on the bill. The Chair instructs this house to vote in SILENCE! Members will cast their votes through the division lobby--which requires no noise at all.

As the only member of this House that will be speaking until the division results are called, I again say--

DIVISION CONTINUES; VOTING REMAINS OPEN.
