B-023: The Local Government Act, 1677

Madam Speaker,

This is another simple, straightforward bill put forward by my Honourable Friend, the Secretary of the Interior. This bill fulfills our important pledge to give local governments a greater say on how they govern themselves. If enacted, this legislation will allow regions and localities to have greater control to address issues in their regions and localities most suited to their needs. I hope that the whole House will join me in approving this common-sense piece of legislation.
