Born of an Alexandrian mother and a Babkhi father, Amaya al-Jamal never imagined herself going into politics. In her youth in Alexandria, she achieved her Bachelor's degree in Social Work, working towards her Master's degree in the same field, followed by her PhD, all while working full time as a social worker. Soon after receiving her Master's in Social Work, Amaya found herself pregnant, and gave birth to a son, Darius, who she has raised as a single mother. Upon the fall of Alexandria, she and her son became refugees with no country to call home. The Law of Graces allowed them to settle in Alkhiva, where Amaya's political career began as a community organizer, working to engage fellow refugees in efforts to address healthcare costs and working to clean up the nuclear waste left in the region. With the support of her community, Amaya chose to run for office under the National Congress for Social Democracy, believing the party the best vehicle for real change in Alduria.

Amaya al-Jamal supported the nationalization of oil in Alduria, however, she does not believe the government has gone far enough. A large part of her focus in community organization is the creation of a National Resource Fund Dividend (NRFD), which would pay all Aldurian citizens a dividend based on both domestic and international income accrued from natural resources, including oil. Alongside this signature piece of legislation, al-Jamal supports generous social programs, including publicly funded childcare paid for with a wealth tax, and a socialized, multi-payer healthcare system.
