Opposition Week Scheduling Notifications
#1
This thread shall be used for the Prime Minister to designate Opposition Weeks. Under the provisions of Section IV, Rule 4, the PM must designate at least 2 weeks in a Parliamentary session for opposition business. It will be the policy of this Government to announce the scheduling of an opposition week at least 1 week in advance to allow opposition parties time to write, submit, and consider what legislation to docket.

The Official Opposition party (the largest party not in Government) is entitled to submit 2 bills during opposition week. The 2nd largest party not in Government is entitled to submit 1 bill during opposition week, unless the Official Opposition party has not submitted any bills, in which case it may submit 2 bills.

Notice is hereby given by the Prime Minister that the first opposition week shall be scheduled for the week [beginning July 21st] which will be the docket after the next one. I am also sending PMs to the party leadership linking them to this thread.

Notice is hereby given by the Prime Minister that the second opposition week shall be scheduled for the week [beginning September 15th] which will be the next docket.

(OOC Note: Due to the upcoming political re-alignment and the high likelihood of an early election, this opposition week is being scheduled now to ensure the Government meets its requirement of doing 2 opposition days per Parliament per the Standing Orders. Please contact me if you have any questions about how opposition days work.)
