Zimmer Narrating: Today I visited a Hospital in rural Saint Ignace, these workers work extremely hard but nurses are only paid a basic wage of €8 an hour on average in these rural areas

Zimmer Narrating: This is Jenny, she is a single mother with 2 young children and earns a basic wage. Sometimes she goes days without eating just to afford the children’s breakfast, lunch, tea and clothes. And this is happening to so many families across the country, it’s not just Jenny.

Zimmer Narrating: But it doesn’t have to be this way, the DSP will put forward a minimum wage of €8/h for all workers and raise it to €14/h over several years so workers get a fair deal at work, we will also protect workers from being over-worked and help low-income families with Health Insurance and free school meals
