* As the first President, Alejandro understands that everything in his presidency may establish a precedent. He wishes devoutly to ensure that these precedents are established on fixed, true principles: separation of church and state, a "President of all Aldurians" figure to unite the country, peaceful transfers of power, rule of law.
* Santos is known for being an able administrator and a judge of talent and character, talking regularly with the Prime Minister, members of the Constituent Assembly, and department heads to get their advice. He tolerates opposing views, despite having fears that a democratic system could lead to political violence when partisanship is unchecked. He favors a strong central government but is sympathetic to a more "federalist" form of government.
