Alfonso was born in Valladares to working class parents. His father died of cancer when he reached the age of 12, forcing his surviving family into greater poverty. Despite promises of assistance from the territorial government, Alfonso and his family received little assistance, forcing the family to fend for itself. Unable to procure formal employment due to his young age, Alfonso used his charm to get any side-job he could, hustling his way to provide for the basic needs of him and his family. When he turned 15, Alfonso managed to impress a salesman at a local tech company who provided him with his first job. His success in this job opened up the door for him to finish out his high school diploma and to undertake a series of studies concerning technology, all funded by his company. During this time Alfonso also saved up money and obtained a business degree. Taking the knowledge he learned from his technology and business studies, he eventually went into business for himself and created a small start-up business connecting people in need of work to individuals and employers looking for trustworthy individuals to handle odd-jobs. After a myriad of challenges and two near-bankruptcies, Alfonso finally got the break he needed by entering into partnership with a large investor who propelled his small app, 4Hire, into a booming international success.
Emboldened by this success, Alfonso used his new wealth to launch other ideas and to invest in promising ventures. By the time he turned 20, Alfonso was a multi-millionaire and had gained national notoriety as a businessman. Over the next decade he solidified his image as an innovator.
Frustrated with the political state of Alduria along with a regulatory climate that Alfonso found burdensome, he made the decision to enter Parliament in his late 20's, associating himself with the Liberty & Democracy party. Alfonso's past has fueled his distrust for the ruling Government and his thirst to help ensure that other Aldurians like himself can success in life.
Alfonso is single and openly gay. He has a public reputation for being a playboy an image which he does not shy away from, unlike most politicians. This has brought him a mix of adoration and criticism both domestically and internationally.

Alfonso is strongly committed to a Libertarian philosophy while also recognizing the importance of being able to apply Libertarianism practically in society. This balance of his idealism vs. his sense of the achievable has earned him both admirers and critics in and outside his party. He frequently clashes with the "purists" within the party believing that their quest for "Libertarian Purity" only ensures to promote party in-fighting and increased majorities for parties that seek to act against the LDP's interests.
As a businessman and self-made millionaire, Alfonso is strongly pro-business. He is a strong promoter of free trade, limited Government regulation of business, and lower taxation for individuals and corporations. Alfonso has also been a leading voice for the privatization of Government run enterprises, most notably the Oil industry.
Alfonso is also one of the strongest supports of personal civil liberties, even exceeding the zeal of many in his own party. He has been a big supporter of more protections for minorities, especially LGBTQ citizens.
